Yes, I am still alive! And slowly crawling back into the land of the living. After Jeni left, I had two guests come stay for a week. I was already WWAAAAAAYYY behind at school because the first two weeks of my school year were Jeni's last two weeks of living in Hawaii. Instead of doing preparation for the school year, I just hung out and spent time with Jeni. And then when people came to stay, I just got further behind. Don't you just hate that feeling?
But, I took the whole weekend and just completely relaxed and worked.... even though work isn't a relaxing thing, it was for me because it felt good to finally accomplish things! Here's a small example- we're four weeks into school and I JUST finished my syllabus. OOPS!
So, I enjoyed being able to sleep, work, sleep, work and I finally feel halfway normal. My classroom this year is about 96 degrees (with 35 students in most classes!) and with being tired and feeling way behind, I haven't been the happiest camper. So things are looking up for sure!
Jeni finally made it to Hungary! She left California on Saturday evening and arrived in Hungary yesterday I guess. She hasn't had much time to email, but definitely loves it so far. She says the fellowship is amazing- almost unreal. We are living in a pretty spiritually dark place so I'm sure she's feeling blinded by the light- in a good way! :) One of the most vivid things for me when I went to Africa was the amazing fellowship and hanging out with like-minded believers. So I am happy for her! A funny thing happened... I guess a couple of 25 year old guys picked them up from the airport in an old vanagon with a funky trailor attached. As they were driving, she said to one of the other teachers, "I'm surprised they sent young guys to get us." Well, it turns out they run the Bible College! Welcome to your late twenties Jeni!!! :)
