(Updated) Bok.....bok....

Well, it finally hit me today. I live in Hawaii! What a beautiful land God created! I had my first day of work today (just an in-service, the kids will come next Wednesday). Since my car hasn’t arrived yet, Jeni and I are sharing her car. I was walking across the football field that separates our two schools after work and was looking and the blue sky and lush land, listening to the birds and the ocean (which is across the street from our schools)…. and it hit me. What an amazing blessing!
And another blessing… I got an apartment! Jeni’s complex is hard to get into because of it’s location and lower prices than other places (and because most people want to live in a tin can shack at some point in their lives), but Jeni, being the sweet little darling she is has made friends with the landlords. She got my name on the list months ago. So, an apartment came open and I got it! I took some pictures of the outside. There’s still someone living in there so we’ll all have to wait (including me!) to see what the inside looks like! But I wanted to show you how close it is to my sister’s place. That’s my sister’s apartment window on the right hand side of the picture. My new apartment is on the left hand side in the back. There’s a front porch on the other side. We’re close enough to be in yelling distance so if the chicken gets out, we can let each other know.

UPDATE!!!! Ok, so the girl in that other apartment decided to keep her apartment and I don't get to move in. Hmph... well, the good news is God knows best and something good will come out of it! And Jeni, the chicken and I have a good 300 square feet of prime living space here... so who needs to move anyway! :)

Okay, What chickens? And Why do you need chickens if you don't cook? That is so cool to live so close to your sis. I can't imagine how much fun you are having. How are your parentals doing?

Hey Ash, it's jeni. We don't have a chicken. But we're in the process of figuring out how to get one. There are lots of wild ones running around and we've thought about snagging one but we're both too chicken (no pun intended).
And you're right, Jaime doesn't cook. But her little sissy does. And she wants a chicken!!!! So come visit us and maybe Joel can catch one for us.
Our parents are doing good but I think they miss us as much as we miss them. But they're coming over soon to visit and we're trying to talk them into moving here.
Seriously, you guys should come visit us. You guys would LOVE it. And we would love to see the 3 of you.

Jeni. Your a teacher and I know your really smart, so you may have already figured this out on your own, but. If you have a chicken and you want to cook it, your must murder it, rip it's feathers out of it's flesh and jab a knife into it's lifeless body and chop it's head off and drain it of it's insides. Doesn't the thought of that sicken you at all? I just buy those boneless skinless packs of chicken from the store. It's much less violent, but heck, if you can kill a chicken by yourself, I say do it. :)

I wish wish wish sooooo bad we could come visit you. I told Joel I wanted to visit you guys and he thought I was making some sort of joke. I'll work on him. Love you both, oh and yes, you have to sign up for that inbox dollars thing, to get your own account and all. I love it, I'm getting another check in the mail sometime soon.

Wow, Ashley.... you have brought up some very good points.... hmmmm... I actually just wanted a chicken so I could eat her eggs.... not chop her head off and jab her with a knife. Hahaha, I had NO idea you had such knowledge running around in your head! :)
