In Other News: THE POWER OF PAINT
Since I've been back, I've only written about Africa and there's so much more to say... but yes, life here does go on too. The week I came back here to Hawaii, Jeni and I had something pretty amazing happen to us! We MOVED!!! We are still in the same little complex, but we moved from our teeny tiny one bedroom to a two bedroom, two bathroom place!!! Wow, I honestly feel like we've moved into a mansion. The absolute best part of it is they painted the whole thing (ceilings too) and put in new carpet. It feels like a brand new house. The reason this is so exciting is for some reason, Hawaii has a different standard of keeping houses clean and stuff. Landlords in California generally repaint rentals every couple of years and keep things maintained... not so here. I guess because everyone is way more laid back, our last place seriously hadn't been painted in at least five years. So, we are SO incredibly stoked. The only problem we've had so far is a random (and really mean) stump laying in the middle of the yard that completely attacked my shin last night. Other than that, we are seriously living the good life :).

How exciting!! : ) Photos, please.
Hello Jaime;
Kaye advised me of this site and I read all about your Africa trip. It seems such a long time since I have heard about you. I was excited and delighted to read the accounts of your activities in Africa. Entebbe has quite a history of violence and uprisings. It is the site of a famous raid made by Israel under the regime of Eddi Amin many years ago. It sounds as if the Lord dealt with you bountifully while you were there. We, the body of Christ, are entering into a time of exposure. It is not exposure to condemn, but rather a reality check, so that the things we mostly would not acknowledge existed in our hearts and minds would be brought to surface so the He might be able to deal with them. These are things we have never been able to acknowledge or accept that have always been a part of who we are. It is very unpleasant to our flesh, but this is a work of the Spirit, and the inner man loves it though our outward man fears it.
I have thought of you and prayed for you whenever the Holy Spirit has brought you to mind over the last few years. I was so encouraged to read about you. Jo Ann and I send you much encouragement in the Lord Jesus and as always extend a welcome to you to come to the ranch if you get back to the continent and need a place to land. We both send our love in the Beloved. Drop us a note when you get time. I am sending along some things the Lord said to me recently during a particularly difficult time I was experiencing..............(Psalm 91)
The Secret Place
We dwell in the secret place of God through spiritual understanding. Understanding is knowledge of the holy. The secret place is a place of abiding. It is a place of refuge in God where we have been given the ability to trust in Him as that refuge. It is a place of deliverance from the evil of his world. It is a place where we are covered by the wings of God himself. It is a place where we dwell in truth, and that truth is our armor and protection from darkness. The secret place is a place devoid of fear; a place of safety from the devices of the enemy and from pestilence and darkness whereby we can dwell night and day in safety. It is a place of abiding where thousands may fall on every side of us but we are safe and free from harm. It is a place of truth where we can see the reward of the wicked that walk in darkness. In our abiding in the secret place, even our habitation in Him, we are exempted and insulated from the effects of evil on ourselves and our dwelling. In the secret place the angels of God look over us and protect us and direct us for they are assigned to do so by God Himself. These heavenly hosts do protect us from accident and sickness and affliction. In the secret place we are given strength and boldness to trample the beast, the serpent and the dragon under foot. The secret place is a place where God has set His love upon us and we know it. It is a place where we know His name in our heart. The secret place is a place of deliverance and love. It is in the secret place that we can call and God will answer; a place He holds us up in time of trouble and delivers us from the hand of the enemy and brings honor to His name. It is in the secret place that we are completely satisfied and without want because we know and understand the Salvation of our God.
I believe John 15: 7 refers to the secret place that is recorded in Psalm 91. “If you abide in me and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will and it shall be done unto you. In the secret place we ask only the will of the Father because in that place we abide and dwell in wisdom and understanding. In James 4 the scripture declares that we have not because we ask not and when we do ask we receive not because we ask amiss to consume it upon our lusts. In the secret place we never ask amiss for the Holy Spirit asks through us perfectly. The secret place was from the beginning. It is the place of eternal wisdom and understanding that has been since before the creation. It is the place of absolute truth. This truth has set us free from the fetters of the world we live in. The secret place is not geographical. Jesus proclaimed in John 17 this word concerning the disciples, “They are not of this world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” The secret place is a place of sanctification by God. It is a beautiful place of knowing the things that are not understood, and understanding the things that are not known. Lord, may we always dwell there.
